  • Broiler feed ingredients: non-GMO wheat, peas, corn, roasted soy-beans, camelina meal, alfalfa, fish meal (protein,) and enzymes and minerals including Fertrell PNB, aragonite and laczyme. Contains soy, is GMO-free.
  • Pig feed ingredients: non-GMO wheat, peas, corn, roasted soy-beans, camelina meal, and enzymes and minerals including Fertrell Swine Mix, lysine and laczyme. Beginning in 2022 it contains soy, is GMO-free.
  • Sheep "grain": homemade blend of wheat and cracked corn mixed with a little organic molasses. (Fed in very small quantities (a few tablespoons/sheep) every few days to move sheep into pasture paddocks.) The sheep grain is soy-free and GMO-free.

Are your products certified organic?

Our farm's practices are organically-based per definition: we do not use pesticides or herbicides on our land, and only buy GMO-free feed ingredients for our animals, etc. We are not certified organic, though, so we do not label our meat and eggs as such.

Do your animals get plenty of wild food to eat?

Our cattle are 100% grass-fed, which means their diet consists of freshly grazed pasture and stored grasses like hay. Free-choice minerals and salt supplementations are given to our cattle as needed.

Our pigs are moved through our forest where they have a constant supply of foliage, nuts, roots and grubs to eat.

Similarly, our egg layers and broiler chickens are moved to fresh pasture. This mirrors the chicken’s natural desire to roam, and also provides them with a natural and plentiful diet of bugs and fresh grasses on which to graze.

Our sheep are rotated across our pastures behind our cows, eating foliage and underbrush 10 months out of the year. The two months before lambing season starts, they are given a balanced diet of hay, grass and a small quantity of grain as a treat and for their health before lambing. Minerals and salt supplementations are given to our sheep as needed.
